We’ve just finished designing the latest draft mockups for the user interface and we’d like to hear your feedback.
We won’t touch the first page of search as we think the “Google” approach works best. But what we will do is change the article search results page to a more organized one and with some nice features. Other, non-article, sections of the site (resources, support, blog, etc.) will keep the current search results page.
Article Search Results Page
The main idea is that once you know what you’re searching for, you don’t even need to open the article. The main thing here is the Preview button which will open a small window box which will preview the article’s text. Once you’ve read it you’ll be able to quickly Download it or add it to Download Cart with buttons on the left of the article.
This is how the preview will look (the same as with ‘overlay’ image boxes you see on many websites).
Advanced Search Results filtering
There will also be a new interface for filtering your search results. Instead of going to a new page, the advanced search panel will slide from the left.
Article options will be available in the right sidebar instead on top of the article. This way the visual space will be better used.
Give us your feedback
The new user interface was created with the easiest and fastest finding of articles in mind. We took into account your early feedback and our own usage.
We’d love to hear your feedback on the new user interface mockups:
- Do you like it?
- Would you change anything?
- Is there something missing you’d like to see?
